All The Rage: Mod Squad
Think Twiggy, Peggy Moffit, or even Elizabeth Hurley in Austin Powers. This makeup look being very specific, it’s suggested that you consider your hair and outfit too. A mod-inspired total look would be great, with a modern twist of course; you’re not trying to look like you’re going to a costume party. Or are you? Take it where you like, and maybe back in time is just the place for you.
1. Start with a very defined eyebrow that has strong edges, using a color that matches your eyebrow hair. While this may seem obvious, people get some interesting ideas sometimes so it’s better to be clear.
2. Cover the entire lid with a nice light and bright blue that’s opaque. For a more subtle look try an ivory or light beige.
3. The key to this look is the defined crease. Using a very small shadow brush (or sponge applicator if that’s all you have), create a specific line just under your brow bone on the upper edge of your crease. Take that the line all the way too the inner corner and all the way to the outer edge. Black/charcoal or tawny brown are good color choices for this. Go slow, take your time. *If you have saggy eyelids remember to find your brow bone and draw under that. Don’t put your crease line where your eye actually creases. If you’d like a softer line, blend back and forth very delicately over your crease line with a blender brush.
4. With a black liquid liner, line the top lid only, bringing it up or our a tad at the end if you like.
4. Use a pencil liner to sweep under the bottom lid.
5. Curl your lashes and use a ton of mascara, top and bottom.
6. False lashes on top and/or bottom are great with this look. It’s all about where you want to go.
7. Finish with a light, neutral lip that is matte.
